Are Web series like “ Four More Shots Please” and “ Made in Heaven” seriously empowering women?
There are so many open platforms, be it Netflix, Amazon Prime or any online content stream provider, where you can find web series we all buzz about. Basically the content over these selected platforms is authentic, relatable and something that inspires to implement in real life.
But to the core, Are they actually inspiring us?
Can we just say that series like Four more shots please and Made in Heaven, do they seriously represent women’s philosophy?
We don't necessarily need to crawl out of the comforts of our home to absorb inspiration from complicated, rich female characters.
Talking about feminism and young independent women in India, where many are still afraid of societal norms, running back and forth, still with the dilemma of pursuing dreams, these girls represent freedom in terms of having sex, alcohol addiction and being prodigal.
I personally consider all these movies should not drive the young women to fall into the traps of these people who come up with such bad scripts and ultimately failing the idea of Women Liberalism.
There are more worth things waiting in Women’s life, what not is obviously pursuing eligible men in their life. There are whole lot of ways that depicts Indian women being rebellious for their rights, securities, worth and not just having dreams of sleeping with a guy.
This is illogical, vague and more of the brainwashing for men, who considers, that we women, just want to f***.
Modernization never meant to objectify urban Indian women with these shitty logic and try to serve the story with lust.
The series should have been made with more conceptual, realistic and sensuality that meets the current scenario rather than just faking and over dramatizing every bit of the life.
